Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!

We took advantage of this beautiful day today and went to the zoo with our friends Vicki and Kenzie.

The temperature was about 78 degrees (a rarity in SC), it was overcast, and an overall perfect day to be outside! Justin had to work so we missed him, but we had fun anyway.

This is my favorite part of the zoo...

I LOVE the gorillas! They're just so funny.

D liked the elephants. I think they were big enough to get his attention. He just stared at them and smiled.

Ridding the elephant.

Up close and personal!

This guy reminded me of our dogs. He just wanted some attention!

"Is Your Mama a Llama?" That's all I can think about when I see llamas. That and they have really funny teeth! (That's a book, by the way. :) )

This was D's favorite part. He really enjoyed looking at all of the fish.

This picture almost looks fake, but I promise it's not! A few of the penguins put on a show for us. They swam around right in front of the glass, gracefully gliding through the water. So cool to watch! They wouldn't face us for a picture though.

By the end of the trip this little man was worn out! He was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. Considering his hand was in his mouth almost the entire day, we're thinking we may see a little white tooth poking through sometime soon. What do you think?

  1. As always, we enjoy seeing what the Carters are up to! What a great idea to visit the zoo when it's cool and less stinky...you've inspired us to visit, too :)

We will be anticipating pictures of a new tooth soon. Derrick is just adorable and we so enjoy your pictures!
