On Monday (10/4/10) we moved. ALL that work on our house and we sold it! We must be crazy, but we're at it again. I'll be posting new pics as we finish our new (to us) house, but until then, here's our old kitchen.
When we bought our house, it took a lot of imagination to know that we could turn this poor house that had been completely overtaken by horrible floral wall paper into a home that we could love.
The night we closed, we just had to move in. We packed a bag and a cooler (because we had no fridge) and slept on an air mattress in the living room for about a month. As we finished a room, we moved our stuff in. It felt like forever, but in about two months the house was pretty close to being finished and thanks to a handy family (ESPECIALLY Justin's dad), we did the entire house ourselves, which saved a TON of money.
The biggest transformation, which you get to see first, was the kitchen. (Pardon the junk everywhere...I told you we were camped out in the living room and there wasn't a clean spot in sight.)
Bye bye strawberry vines all over our walls and yucky cabinets, and hello navy and crisp white!
We're still trying to figure out what to put on the wall here...suggestions welcome! :)
We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!
And this guy LOVES hanging out on the kitchen floor munching on cookies!
To our "Derrick Fans," sorry this wasn't a "normal" post, but we thought it would be fun. We'll be posting surgery info asap...I'm calling AGAIN to see if they've decided on a date.
AND....for all of you local to us, we're having a breakfast at Fatz Cafe in Irmo on February 6 to kick off CHD Awareness Week. All proceeds will go to MUSC's Pediatric Cardiology department for CHD research. We hope to have a HUGE turnout, and would love to see you there. If you want tickets (they're $7 for pancakes, sausage, fruit and drink, and kids 4 and under eat free), email me at email@example.com. If you want to help sell them, or volunteer to wait tables, we would LOVE, LOVE that too!!! Let me know, and I'll keep you posted on how things are going.
