Surgery Day Updates 1 & 2

 "What?  It's today?"

"Y'all wait right here.  I'll be back before you know it."

Our first update said that they were still cutting through the scar tissue, and that Derrick was very stable. :)

And...sorry, we were downstairs for the first update...

The second one said that he is now on bypass, that still remains stable, and that they're working away.

Thank you!!

  1. Shannon, Please know that I woke up praying for Derrick this morning. As you know he is in good hands at MUSC. Not only does he have Dr. Hsai taking care of him, but he has the GREAT PHYSICIAN there as well. I have been praying off and on all morning for this little guy and you and your husband as well. It is a helpless feeling to be sitting up there waiting. IF I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to call on me. Greandma Gale (Ivan Taylor's grandma, HLHS) ggbagwell@charter.net

  5. Hey guys,
I went to bed last night and woke up this morning with you on my mind.I know what you are going through first hand.Right now in the waiting room, the knot in your stomach is a feeling that can't be explained to someone who has not experienced this.I have prayed that God work through the surgeon's hands on derrick, and that angels will surround the operating room. The idea of the heart lung bypass was the hardest thing for me to wrap my mind around as well.Giving derrick to the doctor this morning was something word's can't describe, but something I learned a month ago is you just let go,and let God...praying for you all day,
